Join 'The 2.6 Challenge’ to Support Project Zero and Turn The Tide on the Climate Crisis

We're so pleased to announce that Project Zero is a part of a new fabulous campaign called The 2.6 Challenge, an effort to save the UK’s charities and to help us continue to turn the tide on the climate crisis - and we need your help!

The Covid-19 pandemic is having a catastrophic effect on UK charities leading to an estimated loss of £4 billion, which means a loss to all the wonderful things we charities support.

The charity sector depends on income from events yet thousands have been cancelled or postponed, including our own Turn the Tide on the Climate Crisis concert, World Oceans Day events, and sculpture exhibition.

And for many charities, 26th April would have been the biggest fundraising day of the year thanks to the London Marathon, the world’s biggest one day fundraising event, which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019.

In response, the UK’s mass participation sports event industry has come together to create The 2.6 Challenge, a nationwide fundraising campaign to Save the UK’s Charities, launching on the same day the marathon would have - Sunday 26th April.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We are inviting our friends and supporters to help us be a big part of this challenge by dreaming up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to Project Zero to support our work and help UK charities.

Here are some examples of things you can do, but it's up to you!  Use the numbers 26 or 2.6 and do anything you'd like as long as you follow government guidelines on exercise and social distancing.

Run or walk 2.6 miles (or km) – or for 26 minutes

Exercise at home for 26 minutes (or 2.6 minutes)

Do 26 press ups

Walk up and down the stairs 26 times

Cook/flip 26 pancakes

Juggle for 2.6 minutes

Give your pet 26 kisses

Sing or play an instrument for 2.6 minutes

Or anything else you can think of!

More than ever, we’d love your help in supporting the UK’s incredible charities and help us Turn The Tide on the climate crisis.
